Parent Teacher Organization.
We've included a handy video. If you still have questions, have a look at our
calendar for our next PTO meeting and join us to ask any questions you still have.
The vision of the Southside Parent/Teacher Organization shall be to encourage the relationship between the home and the school, so that parents and teachers may cooperate effectively in the teaching of the child. Southside PTO shall strive to develop unified efforts among educators, home, and the community that will secure for every child the highest advantage in physical, social, emotional, and academic education.
The purpose of this organization shall be educational and shall be developed through conferences, committees, and projects.
This organization shall be non-commercial, non-sectarian, and non-partisan. No commercial enterprise and no candidate shall be endorsed by it. Neither the name of the organization nor the names of its officers in their official capacity shall be used in any connection with commercial concern or with partisan interest, or for any purpose other than regular work of the organization.
This organization may cooperate with other organizations and agencies active in child welfare, such as conference groups or coordinating councils, provided they make no commitments which bind their member groups.
The PTO meet once a month to discuss new ideas and provide feedback on past events.
We do have PTO committees for some events that meet more often during the planning and execution phase.
There are few ways any parent can help the PTO. We often add events to Parent Square where we ask for volunteers and/or donations towards certain events. If neither of these work for you, you can also
donate financially to our PTO fund through our website.
We welcome any ideas on how to further raise funds or bring our community together - if you have any, it would be a great help!
The PTO is governed and audited to ensure our financial status remains compliant. During our PTO meetings we provide feedback on all funds received and spent. We add these meeting notes to our monthly newsletter, which you can read on our
news page, or through Parent Square.
